Volunteer!

Dive on in and learn a bunch!!

Are you interested in getting more involved with shows and networking? Volunteering is an excellent opportunity to learn and meet other breeders. You don’t have to bring animals or belong to any organization to volunteer! New to alpacas? Volunteering is an opportunity to learn and get involved. There are numerous positions that need to be filled and require little, if any, advanced training.

Here are just a few examples of volunteer jobs:

  • getting ribbons ready for the judges to award
  • gate steward (lining up classes to go into the show ring)
  • working the registration desk on Thursday
  • working at the welcome table Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday, and
  • color checking animals on Thursday to be sure they are in the right color classes for the show.

Ring Steward:  Ring Steward is another essential job that we are recruiting for.... not only necessary for the show, but super-educational for the volunteer! We have morning or afternoon shifts available. GREAT way to learn as you work beside assisting judge as they request. You direct the animals into the ring and assist judge by keeping animals under control if needed, give judge the score cards and ribbons. VERY important position with a great learning opportunity! Shifts required for Saturday and Sunday for 2 rings.  If you are new to Ring Stewarding, we will provide training!!

We can use your help for as little as an hour or a day.  We will have an online signup link here in the near future.
