Halter Show and Walking Fleece Show
Each alpaca entry for halter, bred & owned, and all group classes is $45.00 for MOPACA members. The non-member fee for those entries is $50.00. (You can join or renew at any time during the year to receive member benefits. Join or renew here.)
Alpacas must be registered in the name of the current owner as listed on the AOA registration certificate. Pending certificates will not be allowed. If applicable, an Owner of Record for Show form, signed by the owner as listed on the AOA certificate, must be submitted. This form is available when you register, or you may download it here.
All exhibitors must also complete and submit Exhibitor Disclosure forms when they register.
In order to facilitate fewer class changes at check-in, exhibitors are urged to compare their alpaca’s fleece at mid-side, closest to the skin, with the AOA color chart and to consult the current AOA Show Division Handbook color definitions when choosing the class number.
Registration for Get of Sire and Produce of Dam are available online for $45.00 per entry for MOPACA members; $50.00 for non-members.
Breeder’s Best Three entries are also $45.00 each for members, $50.00 for non-members, and will be accepted until the end of check-in on March 26th, 2021.
Halter Show substitutions will be allowed after the deadline for verified medical issues only. There will be no charge for medical-related substitutions. Other than verified medical substitutions, an additional late fee of $25.00 per animal will be charged for alpacas substituted after the deadline. If you have questions or changes regarding Halter Show substitutions or any other Halter Show issues, contact the Show Superintendent:

Walking Fleece ShowThere will ONLY be 115 openings for Walking Fleece this year!!! So register early!
For those of you who have not been involved in the Walking Fleece Show before, please sign up! The walking fleece is just like a regular fleece show, only different! HaHaHa
You enter your animals, fleece on the body, and the judge examines it, judges it, and gives oral reasoning to you right there on the spot. Conformation does not play a role in the judging, nor does the weight of the blanket, nor the uniformity of length. Instead of 100 points possible in a regular mail-in fleece show, there are 80 points possible for Huacaya, and 85 points possible for Suris with the walking fleece.
There is no skirting, bagging up and mailing involved, and while you are at the show you will get a second judge giving you an opinion on your animal. What more could you ask for!
Cheryl Gehly will be our Walking Fleece Judge this year, and is excited about judging each and every entry. If you have not entered before, NOW is the time!!!
You can find more information about the Walking Fleece show and requirements here.
Halter Show Attire
Attire should be neat, conservative and appropriate for the class. Black and white is the dress combination requested by MOPACA, with closed toe and heel shoes. No high heels, please.
