Mid America Alpaca Challenge
The Mid America Alpaca Challenge includes a regular halter show, including Small Breeder classes.
From the AOA Show System Handbook:
Novice classes are intended to encourage new or novice breeders to show their alpacas with other novice breeders.
A farm qualifies as a Novice Breeder if it has owned alpacas for five years or less. Small Breeder classes are intended for small breeders to show their alpacas with other similarly sized farms. A farm qualifies as a Small Breeder if it has no more than 20 AOA registered females at the time of registration for that show. These classes are meant to foster and further the education of novice and/or small breeders through class placements and Judge comments. Show Superintendents shall verify eligibility though an active AOA account and/or Owner of Record for Show Entry.
What's a walking fleece show? It's all about the fiber!
Each animal is judged alone. After examining the fleece, the judge provides provides oral reasoning to you right there on the spot. Conformation and the weight of the blanket do not play a role in the judging.
There is no skirting, bagging up and mailing involved, and while you are at the show you will get a second judge giving you an opinion on your animal. What more could you ask for!
Beverly Brehm will be our Walking Fleece Judge this year, and is excited about judging each and every entry. If you have not entered before, NOW is the time!!!
You can find more information about the Walking Fleece show and requirements here.
Register for the Walking Fleece Show when you register for the MOPACA Invitational Alpaca Show.
