Mid-America Alpaca Owners and Breeders (MOPACA) is sponsoring a dyeing workshop on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024 in Concordia, MO. Liz Bonny, professional dyer, will be the speaker. She will present a hands on seminar during which attendees will dye alpaca yarns (provided by MOPACA and/or seminar participants) with acid dyes provided by MOPACA.

100% Alpaca yarn
Hot plates
Pots
Microwaves
Plastic wrap
Jars
Vinegar
Gloves
Participants are welcome to bring their own alpaca yarn for dyeing. This should be in skeins(please limit to 100gm/skein), and can be washed prior to or at the event.
Participants will also want to wear clothes and shoes they don't mind "coloring", and/or aprons.
Ms. Bonny will provide a handout for attendees with the information on the dyeing process along with resources for further learning.
Attendees will have the opportunity to practice immersion dyeing, and various techniques for graduation of color, variegated yarns, and tieing resists.
Morning session: 9:00 am to noon
Lunch break from noon to 1:00 pm (lunch will be provided)
Afternoon session: 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
